A hospital bill is sensitive. Here is how this site treats the file, in ordinary language.
What you upload
When you upload a statement we store the file on the application server, tied to your account, so you can come back to the review. We use it to run the audit and, if you buy the package, to write the dispute letter.
Who can open it
You can. An administrator can open files to support the product. We do not sell statements, and we do not use them as advertising profiles.
HIPAA, said carefully
Billfixai is built for private handling of medical bills: access is limited to the account holder, files are not public, and the admin area is closed to search engines. If you are a covered entity sending us a file, talk to your counsel about a business associate agreement before you do. This page is not that agreement.
Payments
Card charges, when enabled, are handled by Stripe. We do not keep full card numbers on this server.
Removing a file
Delete your account from the profile page and the bills attached to it are removed with the account. You can also write to the address in the footer and ask us to delete a single file.
