Most hospitals now take attachments in the patient portal. Upload the itemized bill here, read the flags, and if you take the letter package, download the PDF and attach it to a billing message. Ask them to reply in writing.

Online does not mean instant. Give them two to three weeks, then follow up. Start with the upload page when the file is already on your computer.
